Food and Nutrition Services
The Department of Food and Nutrition Services at Tucson Medical Center is committed to providing the highest quality food and excellence in service. We know how important balanced and healthy foods are to your health and well-being. We strive to ensure that the meals patients receive while in our care are not only enjoyable but also nutritious.
When you are admitted to Tucson Medical Center, your physician will prescribe a diet for you based on your individual needs. Our diets are designed to assist in your recuperation and healing process. We try to meet personal preferences whenever possible.
If the diet that is prescribed by your physician is new to you, a Registered Dietitian is available to provide education and answer any questions you may have about your new diet. Diet Technicians are also available throughout the hospital to assist with menu selections and answer any questions about the daily menu or your diet.
Once home, our support and education does not end. Individual Nutritional Counseling with a Registered Dietitian is available with a physician’s prescription through our Outpatient Services. Additionally, for answers to specific nutrition related questions, please email your question and a qualified dietitian will reply.
