TMC first hospital in state to achieve Stage 7 EMR

HIMSS Analytics Honors TMC with Stage 7 Recognition

HIMSS Analytics announced Tucson Medical Center has achieved Stage 7 on the Electronic Medical Record Adoption ModelSM (EMRAM), its highest level to date.

As of the end of the first quarter of 2012, 86, or 1.2 percent of the more than 5,000 U.S. hospitals tracked by HIMSS Analytics, has reached Stage 7. HIMSS Analytics developed its EMR Adoption Model in 2005 as a methodology for evaluating the progress and impact of electronic medical record systems for hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics™ Database.

Tracking their progress in completing eight stages (0-7), hospitals can review the implementation and utilization of information technology applications with the intent of reaching Stage 7, which represents an advanced electronic patient record environment.

Tucson Medical Center is the first hospital in Arizona to achieve this distinction.
