Dr. Robert Cole, board-certified in family medicine, primarily sees adults for routine, acute and chronic health care needs, as well as routine women’s health issues. Dr. Cole moved to Tucson in 2012 to work as an urgent care physician. Prior to his years in urgent care, he practiced at a federal low-income clinic.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay area, Dr. Cole completed his undergraduate degree in economics at University of California, Davis, then worked in semiconductor research at University of California, Berkeley, for three years. Next, he worked in clinical medical research at the University of California, San Francisco, for an additional three years. His experience at UCSF - working alongside world-class medical researchers from countries all over the world prompted him to seek his medical education abroad. He spent the next six years in Australia, where he obtained his medical diploma and worked in hospitals in a free health care system similar to Canada’s.
In 2006, Dr. Cole returned to U.C. Davis to complete his internship in family medicine. He fulfilled his residency training at Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina before heading to Tucson. “I have been exposed to many hospitals and health care systems around the globe, and TMC is one of the best I’ve ever seen. I consider myself lucky to be part of such a great health care team,” he said.
