The Diabetes Education Program at Tucson Medical Center is offered by certified diabetes educators who are registered nurses and dietitians. It covers everything that you need to know and is tailored to meet your needs. We offer both individual and group training for diabetes Type 1, Type 2 and diabetes in pregnancy. The American Diabetes Association recognizes this program meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
Individual training is available Monday through Friday by appointment. Topics covered include:
Group training is also available both weekday evenings and Saturdays. Classes consist of 10 hours of training over four weekly sessions. The classes are interactive with hands-on training, discussion, videos and presentations. Topics include:

For uninsured patients or patients that have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, TMC offers an eight-hour class, Journey for Control, Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. To learn more or to register, please call (520) 324-1960.
Additionally, TMC offers free education sessions and support that cover a wide variety of helpful topics. Discussion is facilitated by a certified diabetes educator.
