Aye Lwin, MD, is a urologist who believes in treating every patient with honesty and compassion. "I treat my patients as I would my own family—always doing my best, being honest and ensuring they are active participants in their care," he says. "I present all treatment options openly, encourage shared decision-making and never let ego stand in the way of providing the best possible care." Dr. Lwin’s passion for medicine was shaped by his own firsthand experiences as a patient. "Having been through it myself at a young age, I understand the importance of empathy and clear communication for patients," he explains. "Urology allows me to combine advanced medical innovation with sensitive, personal care—areas where I excel in building trust and providing compassionate care." Born and raised in Macomb, IL, Dr. Lwin earned dual B.S. degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He completed his medical degree at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and urology residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, calling Tucson his home ever since after falling in love with Southern Arizona and its community. Outside of medicine, Dr. Lwin enjoys mountain biking, skiing and playing soccer, tennis and pickleball, all while being an avid fan of Chicago’s sports teams and Arsenal FC. When he isn’t on the move, Dr. Lwin loves cooking and spending time with his significant other, friends and family.
