TMC International & Language Services facilitates communication among patients with limited English proficiency, family members and TMC health care providers.

Our mission is to provide high-quality medical interpretation and written translation services, to facilitate accurate culturally sensitive communication, and to create a safe experience for our patients with limited English proficiency. We embrace the well-being of our culturally diverse community.

  • Medical interpretation training for bilingual employees who help with basic, routine interpretations on their units or in their departments

  • Outreach to Tucson’s Hispanic community; member of Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and supporter of community events
  • Outreach in Mexico
  • TMC Pet Therapy Program for visits to patient rooms by pet teams

CyraCom Language Services

CyraCom is available 24/7 for access to more than 200 languages and dialects, including American Sign Language. TMC uses a variety of CyraCom tools that allow three-way communication between the health care provider, interpreter and patient, including:

  • Blue phones on each unit
  • Video interpretation via laptop
  • Video interpretation via iPad
