New Partners Sign on for CMN Radiothon: 94.9 MIXfm's Bobby Rich Morning Mix Teams up with TMC

Tucson Medical Center and the Bobby Rich Morning Mix from 94.9 MIXfm will join forces to broadcast the annual Children's Miracle Network Radiothon this holiday season.
“The Radiothon is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Children’s Miracle Network, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to support TMC for Children,” said Erika Grasse, the director of development for the TMC Foundation and the Children’s Miracle Network.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Bobby, Greg Curtis and Mrs. Grant, as well as the rest of the team at MIXfm, because they share our dedication to this area and a commitment to a healthier community.

This year’s event will be held Dec. 6-7.
The Bobby Rich Morning Mix is headed by Bobby Rich who has been in radio since he was 14. He has lived in Tucson since 1992 and since that time, has made it a priority to make Tucson and the local community the driving force behind MIXfm. The Bobby Rich Morning Mix already partners with the Ben’s Bells Project as well as highlighting other important community services on their show, which also features morning news, weather and traffic along with a healthy dose of soft rock.
In addition to his duties hosting the morning show, Bobby also serves as the program director of 94.9MIXfm and serves as the director of community partnerships for Journal Broadcast Group Tucson stations. He was named Community Leader of 2012 by Tucson Greater Leadership and is a former Tucson Golden Mic winner.
Rich said he formerly participated in Children’s Miracle Network events in San Diego prior to coming to Tucson. "It's long been my hope to lead the Radiothon on 94.9MIXfm. I love my life, I love the people in our community and I am Tucson - so this really means a lot to me."
Journal Broadcast Group Tucson donated more than $1.5 million in media exposure to local charities last year.
“That sense of community is what the Radiothon is all about,” Grasse added, “so we are really looking forward to sharing the kinds of projects that make such a difference in the lives of Southern Arizona families.”
The annual fundraising event sustains ongoing programs, and will help complete the Block by Block, Miracles Happen capital campaign for the new TMC for Children pediatrics unit. Revenues will help fund the final phase of the expansion and renovation that resulted in the opening of 44 beautiful new private rooms last year.
Every dollar raised locally for Children’s Miracle Network stays right here at TMC to serve the families of Southern Arizona.
