There are 206 bones and 640 muscles in the human body, but in order to work properly, they need the support of our ligaments, tendons and cartilage. Motion requires collaboration, and even the smallest action – such as lifting a fork or taking a step – requires all of these parts to work together. Your orthopaedic care should be just as coordinated. The TMC Orthopaedic Center offers seamless care whether you have a sports-related injury, a broken bone or the need to replace a joint damaged from disease.
Patients who have had an accident or other orthopaedic injury are seen in our Emergency Department where they are stabilized and treated by our experienced, compassionate staff.
Those who need surgery go to the TMC Orthopaedic and Surgery Tower, just west of the Emergency Department. The tower hosts one of five Tucson Orthopaedic Institute locations. TOI is independently owned and one of the largest full-service orthopaedic practices in the Southwest.
The four-story tower also includes state-of-the-art orthopaedic operating rooms that can accommodate both inpatient and outpatient surgeries and a dedicated 40-bed orthopaedic inpatient unit with all private rooms on the fourth floor, where many will begin their recovery with our physical therapists in a dedicated gym.
