Safe Kids Pima County is a network of organizations whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, a leading killer of children 19 and under. Spearheaded by Tucson Medical Center, the local coalition is part of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of more than 600 coalitions in 23 countries bringing together health and safety experts, educators, corporations, foundations, governments and volunteers to educate and protect families.
Safe Kids Worldwide was founded in 1987 as the National SAFE KIDS Campaign by Children's National Medical Center with support from Johnson & Johnson. There is no one device or solution to prevent effectively all types of accidental childhood injuries. Instead, Safe Kids combines several factors to create programs that reduce injuries.
Formerly called Safe Kids Tucson, the name of the local coalition was changed to Safe Kids Pima County to allow more agencies to join our efforts in keeping children safe.
Safe Kids Pima County thanks its partners for their commitment to keeping Southern Arizona kids safe! If your agency is interested in joining this coalition or if you’d like more information about Safe Kids Pima County, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (520) 324-2783.
Safe Kids Pima County is committed to educating adults and children, creating safe environments, conducting research, and advocating for effective laws.
We host child safety passenger inspection stations, fit children for bike helmets, and educate caregivers and children about water safety.
We are a coalition of local community partners who share the same vision and mission to improve child safety. Our coalition is led by a chairperson and coordinator. Other members include first responders, hospital staff, safety advocates, parents and grandparents. We invite anyone who shares our passion to join!
